Fall Fad

By Hamail Iqbal

The autumn tree is a spectacle.

Its cool toned, uniform base

Holding unique, uneven stripes

Lines out a bold figure

Against the dipping sun’s space.

Its bright leaves once strewn

Now sit at its feet

In a gradient of velvety amber

And a leathery maroon.

Its branches now in sight

Are coated with a soft sheen

Of the grey morning mist

Reflecting every nuance of the dimming light.

And so, the autumn tree is quite the spectacle.
