You are the backbone of this religion.
After all, the companions were not born followers of the Prophet.
You left behind the world you knew since your first breath, for one that was foreign,
And traded it for the eternal garden.
You studied in depth and came to this religion with conviction,
Which is more than can be said for many of us born with it.
We do not treat you with the respect you deserve,
Instead you are shunned and used as a bragging right.
But know that without you we wouldn’t exist on this Earth,
Because you teach this faith to your children who will pass it on to theirs.
And know your reward will be multiplied with each person who recites God’s words,
All due to being descended from you.
For at the end of the day, we are Muslim because our forefathers were you.
